Jummah Khutbah

 

  • Convey Salam whilst Standing,
  • Begin with praising Allah subhana wa taala and  conveying salutations upon Rasulallah Sallallahu alayhi wasalam, His family & His Companions
    • “Indeed the best speech is the speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace be upon him). And the worst of matters are those innovated by the people, and every innovated matter is a bid’ah and every bid’ah is astray, and every going astray is in the fire.

Amma bad..fa inna khayral hadeethi kitabullah wa khayral hadee,

hadee Muhammadin,

wa sharrol omoori muh dathaa tuhaa

wa kulla muh dathatin-bidah wa kulla-bidatin dalaalah,

wa kulla-dalaalatin finnar

  • Begin the Jummah talk then
  • State Istighfaar
  • Remain seated until Adhaan completed, then stand

 

Main Khutbah recitation

ARISE

  • Recite Khutbat-ul-Haajjah.

Al-hamdu Lillaahi nahmaduhu wa nasta’eenahu wa nastaghfiruhu,

wa na’oodhu billaahi min shuroori anfusinaa wa min sayi’aati a’maalinaa.

Man yah dihil laahu falaa mudil lalahu

wa man yud lil falaa haadiya lahu.

Wa ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la sharika lahu

wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluhu sallalahu alayhi

wa ala alihi wasallam wa ba’ad.

 

  •  Then recite the verses 3:102, 4:1, and 33:70-71.

1]              Ya ayyu-hallatheena aamanu ttaqul laha haqqa tuqatihi wala tamoo tunna illa wa antum muslimoon

” O believers! Be mindful of Allah in the way He deserves,

and do not die except in a state of full submission to Him.

 

2]              Ya ayyu han naas uitaqoo rabbakumul lathee khalaqakum

min nafsiw wahidatow wa khalaqa min ha zawjaha wabath tha minhuma rijalan katheeraw wa nisaa-ah.

Wat taqul lahal lathee tasaa-aloona bihi wal-arhama innal laha kana ‘alaykum raqeeba

(O humanity!

Be mindful of your Lord Who created you from a single soul,

and from it He created its mate, and through both He spread countless men and women.

And be mindful of Allah—

in Whose Name you appeal to one another—

and honour family ties.

Surely Allah is ever Watchful over you

 

3]              Ya ayyu-hallatheena aamanu ttaqullaha wa qooloo qawlan sadeeda.

Yuslih lakum a’maa lakum wa yaghfir lakum thunoo bakum.

Wamay yuti’illaha wa rasoolahu faqad faaza fawzan ‘atheema

(O believers!

Be mindful of Allah, and say what is right.

He will bless your deeds for you, and forgive your sins.

And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger,

has truly achieved a great triumph

 

  • Then remain seated whilst making istighfaar

 

ARISE

  • Then arise and recite the Adiyah (Dua’s)

 

A] Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan

wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan

waqina ‘adhaban-nar,  

Our Lord!

Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter,

and protect us from the torment of the Fire

 

B] Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi

wa’fu anna

waghfir lana

war hamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘alal-qawmil kafireen,

Our Lord!

Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us.

Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear.

Pardon us, forgive us,

and have mercy on us.

You are our ˹only˺ Guardian.

So grant us victory over the disbelieving people”

 

C] Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba’da idh hadaytana

wa hab lana mil ladunka rahmah innaka antal Wahhab,

“Our Lord!

Do not let our hearts deviate after you have guided us.

Grant us Your mercy.

You are indeed the Giver of all bounties”.

 

D] Allahumma salli `ala Muhammadin wa `ala ali Muhammadin

kama sallaita `ala Ibrahima wa `ala ali Ibrahima Innaka hameedun Majid

Allahumma barik `ala Muhammadin wa `ala ali Muhammadin

kama barakta `ala Ibrahima wa `ala ali Ibrahima Innaka hamidun Majeed,

 

“O Allah, let Your Peace come upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

as you have brought peace to Ibrahim and his family.

Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family.

Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
